Ella Mohr Steiner, 97, passed away at Clare Bridge Assisted Living on Sunday, August 16, 2009.
Ella was born in Sheboygan, WI, on October 23, 1911, to Henry and Catherina (nee, Basner) Mohr. She married Ramon (Ray) Charles Steiner. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1972. Ella enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Ella loved to create handmade gifts for her family; they are many, beautiful and treasured by her family.
Ella is survived by her three daughters, Sally (Richard) Granger, J. Carol Douglass, both of Racine, and Kathryn (Neil) Anderson of Kenosha; twelve dear grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and dear cousin, Selma Lindeman of LaMesa, CA. Ella is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeffery Granger on May 30, 1988; and three sisters, Grace Broitzman, Evelyn (Mohr) Rivers and Lorraine Mohr; and her dear cousin, Emma Thompson.
Funeral services for Ella will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1501 Erie St., on Thursday, August 20, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Daniel B. Quinn officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested by the family to St. John’s Lutheran School or a charity of ones choice.
