Dolores O. Cordier

Dolores O. (nee: Drews) Cordier, 77, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Racine on April 30, 1932, the daughter of Oscar and Olivia (nee: Luebke) Drews. Dolores was united in marriage to James R. Cordier on May 16, 1953, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and found great enjoyment in playing Schaskopf, traveling with her husband throughout the United States, golf, bowling and crocheting.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Suzanne O. Cordier of Racine; sons, Daniel J. (Felicia) Cordier of Florida and Steven O. (Laura) Cordier of Colorado; three grandchildren, Maxwell, Madeline and Grace Cordier; brothers, Duane (Shirley) Drews and Lloyd Drews all of Racine; Godson, Steven (Tracy) Drews of Antigo; sister-in-law, Sylvia Cordier, of New York; and special niece, Olivia Thompson of Iowa.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Dolores was preceded in death by her, parents; husband, James on December 14, 2006; stepmother, Lillian; daughter-in-law, Marrian (nee: Bergan) Cordier; brothers-in-law, Russell (Betty) Cordier and Clarence Cordier.

Funeral services will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 728 Villa St., on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Roekle officiating.

Burial will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at 11 a.m.; those wishing to attend please meet at the cemetery chapel.
There will be a visitation at Sturino Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Saturday at church from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, have been suggested by the family.

A very special thank you to Wheaton Franciscan Home Health Hospice staff, especially Lori and Terri, Shirley Drews and Ruth Kern for their special attention time and care given to Dolores.
