Martha was employed as a Claims Representative with State Farm Insurance for the past twenty-three years. In her spare time, Martha enjoyed playing City League softball, racquetball and volleyball. She was an avid Packers fan and loved her travels, shopping and her dog, Nina. More than anything, she loved her time spent with her many friends. Martha was a beautiful and vivacious woman who will be deeply missed.Survivors include her father, Robert; her sister, Mary Fran (James) Desrochers of Houghton, MI; brother-in-law, Jon Bassindale; her nieces and nephews, Elissa Stine and Wesley Stine Bassindale, all of Whitefish Bay, Ann Marie, Mary Katherine and Elizabeth Stine Desrochers; her partner, Jay Aldrich of Racine; other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Stine; and her sister, Margaret Bassindale.
A Memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 14, 2009,at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Friday from 3 p.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Racine Youth Sports or the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
Many thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane and his entire staff at Oncology Alliance, and the staffs at both WF-All Saints in Racine and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee for all of their loving and compassionate care.
