Betty V. (nee: Andersen) Hansen, 96, passed away on Sunday August 24, 2008, at W.F.H. All-Saints, in Racine, Wisconsin. She was born in Denmark on October 20, 1911, the daughter of Christian and Anine (nee: Hansen) Andersen.
Betty was united in marriage to Emil Hansen in Waukegan, Illinois, on August 9, 1930. She found great enjoyment in knitting, crocheting and most recently watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs.
Betty is survived by her two loving daughters; Marian (Don) Brehm of Racine and Norma (Leonard) Neihoff of Paducah, Kentucky; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, Ida Andersen of Florida; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Emil on October 27, 1980, one brother, Carl Andersen, and one sisterl, Esther Funk.
In keeping with Betty’s wishes private funeral services were conducted by Rev. Steve Wohlfeil of Bethania Lutheran Church, with burial at West Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
Betty’s family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank-you to the Newman Manor staff, W.F.H. All Saints 5th floor Cardiac Care Unit and Hospice, along with Dr. Michael Ansani for the fine care and compassion given to our mother.
