Beverly J. (nee, LaFreniere) Staaden, 76, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Thursday, August 28, 2008.
Bev was born in Escanaba, MI, on November 13, 1931, to Ernest and Madeline (nee, Berens) LaFreniere. She married James F. Staaden, who preceded her in death, on August 28, 1997. Bev retired from Insinkerator after more than 25 years of service. Bev’s passion was bingo. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and bowled with the Thursday Night Women’s League at the Plaza Bowling Center for over 30 years. Bev could always be counted upon to take her grandchildren wherever they wanted to go. But most of all, Bev cared about people, especially her neighbors, and always had a dog treat with her for the dogs that walked by.
Bev is survived by her children, Marilyn Christensen, Jim (Patti) Staaden, Mary (Keith) Anclam and Jerry (Bonnie) Staaden; special friend, Jan Panther; grandchildren, Mark Christensen, Todd Christensen, Jackie Anclam, Tom Anclam, Danny Staaden, Rachel Staaden and Sydney Staaden; five great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Mary Kelley. Bev is also survived by many special friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jay LaFreniere; and two sisters, Dodo Borman and Betty LaFreniere.
Private family services will be held, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, from 5 until 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane and the staff at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center for all of their care and compassion shown to Bev.
