Charles G. 'Chuck' Buchman

Charles G. Buchman, age 85, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at Woodstock Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Racine, September 7, 1922, son of the late George and Viola (Nee:Spencer) Buchman and was a lifelong resident.

Chuck served in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in England. On September 7, 1946, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Lucille D. DuMont. Chuck was employed at Western Publishing Co for 34 years, retiring in 1984. He had been a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church since 1953. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Lucille; 5 children, Marge (Les) Hoover, Tom Buchman, Bill (Diana) Buchman, Patti (Dick) Jensen and Bernie (Chris) Buchman; 12 grandchildren, Jason Buchman, Heather, Melissa, and Rachel Buchman, Mary Bergemann, Leanne (Dave) Danowski. Shelly, Sean, Mindy, Jim, and Jason Hoover and Kim (Gordy) Deschler; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Buchman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine (Richard) Parent, and a sister-in-law, Jean Buchman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., with Reverend Joseph Stobba OSA officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the many neighbors who watched over Chuck.
