Elizabeth F. 'Betty' (McNally) Lombardo

Sturtevant -- Elizabeth F. Lombardo, age 88, passed away Monday, August 25, 2008, at Oak Ridge Care Center. She was born April 7, 1920, daughter of the late James and Adelaide (Nee: Greise) McNally.

On June 26, 1948, in Racine, she was united in marriage to Paul F. Lombardo. Betty graduated from the Normal Teachers College and taught school for RUSD for thirty years. She spent the majority of those years at Lakeside Elementary School and Wind Point Elementary School, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and going on casino trips. Above all she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her husband, Paul; 3 children, Jim (Sandy) Lombardo, Mary (Roy) Chacon, Paul Lombardo (Beth Kjell); 3 grandchildren, Drew Chacon (Tammy), Dustin Chacon (Chyrstal), Lucas Lombardo (Alissa); a sister-in-law, Rosemary McNally; numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary (Henry) Holt and her brother, Charles “Carl” McNally.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 28, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church, 3100 95th St., Sturtevant, with Reverend Paul L. Raczynski officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials to Make A Wish Foundation, Milwaukee, have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Oak Ridge Care Center, especially Nurse Gail, and to Ben and Lee and Benji Martin for their loving care and compassion given to Betty.
