,South Milwaukee – Mrs. Charlotte J. Robey, 90, passed away at Crest House in South Milwaukee on October 26, 2009.
Charlotte was born in Racine to the late Elmer and Grace (nee: Strobe) Van Bussum on June 29, 1919, and had lived in Racine for most of her life. In Racine, she was united in marriage to Eugene H. Robey on April 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1998.
Mrs. Robey was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. She was a member of the church’s Women’s Altar Guild and the Senior Citizens Group. She took great joy in spending time with her family and friends.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Sandra (John) Wawrzyniak; one grandson, Michael; two sisters, Elizabeth Kuhnwald and Marjorie Vasy; and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Arnold Kuhnwald and Stephen Vasy.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, October 30, 2009, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Molly Doreza officiating. Cremation will take place and Charlotte’s cremains will be inurned at West Lawn Memorial Park at a later date. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home from noon until service time. Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
