Michael J. Bellomy, 48, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Friday, October 16, 2009, as the result of a heart attack.
Michael was born in Kenosha on January 14, 1961, to Goebel and Katie (nee: Flannery) Bellomy. He attended William Horlick High School, earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Gateway Technical College and was currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree from Carthage College. Michael worked in a number of industries including metropolitan mass transit and antique restoration, and was most recently employed in the accounting dept. at Coleman Cable.
Among his interests, he was highly talented in antique furniture restoration and interior decorating. Michael enjoyed being active, working in his yard, planting flowers, home remodelling and anything antique. Michael absolutely loved spending time with children, especially his nieces and nephews; and spending time with his canine companion, Riggs.
Surviving are his mother, Katie Bellomy; sisters and brothers, Sharon (Donald) Heck, Jerry Bellomy, Patricia Gilbert, Jill Bellomy, Myrna Bellomy and Goebel (Vickie) Bellomy; special cousin, Myrna Hoover; and many adored nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Goebel; sister-in-law, Pamela Perman; and brother-in-law, Donald Gilbert.
Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at 7 p.m. Private interment will take place in St. George Cemetery, Kenosha. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. In memory of Michael, memorials to Countryside Humane Society have been suggested.
