Jean M. (Firkus) Manbeck

Jean M. Manbeck, age 62, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 19, 2009, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. She was born in Stevens Point on November 24, 1946, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Nee: Czlapinski) Firkus and was raised in Union Grove.

Jean was a graduate of Union Grove High School. On November 25, 1994, in Las Vegas she was united in marriage to Michael J. Manbeck. Jean was employed by Promotions Unlimited for 18 years. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her husband, Mike; three children, Eric Roder of Land of Lakes, WI, Kevin (Stephanie) Roder of MN, and Douglas Roder of Union Grove; two grandchildren, Samuel and Caine; brothers and sisters, Linda (Bill) Cerutti, Ellen Fischer (Kevin Schmitt), Leo (Terry) Firkus, Joseph Firkus Jr., JoAnn (Justin) Klade, John Firkus; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debbie (James) Miller, Veronia (Mark) Heiser, Steven Manbeck, Mark (Nina) Manbeck; best friend, Gloria Burchyett; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends and Libby Lou. In addition to her parents, Jean also was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas; and a grandson, Noah.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Aiello officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

A very special thank you to Dr. Stone and Dr. Tierney and staffs for their loving and compassionate care given to Jean.
