Elnore (nee: Hammond) Hansen-Bertelle, 92, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center. She was born in Edgeley, North Dakota, on December 2, 1916, the daughter of John James and Jenny (nee: Johnson) Hammond.
Elnore moved to Wisconsin at the age of 16. She was a past member of First Baptist Church. On January 20, 1939, she was united in marriage to Arnold Hansen. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1966. On July 13, 1971 she was united in marriage to John Bertelle, who also preceded her in death, in November of 1984. In addition, she was preceded in death by an infant grandson, James C. Hansen Jr.; great-granddaughter, Malory Manske; and great-grandson, Brady Hansen.
Surviving are her children, MaryAnn (Frank Waldron of Germantown, James (Cindy) Hansen of Racine, John (Lane) Hansen of Sturtevant, Linda (Bill Vance) Hansen of Van Nuys, CA, and Fredrick (Kathy) Hansen of Salem; step-children, Franklin Bertelle and Sandy Bertelle both of Kenosha; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Malvasio and Viola Streuli. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at First Evangelical Free Church, 2401 Ohio St., on Monday, October 26, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Howe officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation on Monday before services at the church from 9 a.m. until service time.
