Sturtevant -- Donald F. Knop, age 89, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at his residence. He was born in Paris, WI, on February 28, 1920, son of the late Paul and Elsie (Nee: Radke) Knop.
Don was united in marriage to Violet “Vi” Sleeman on April 11, 1942, at the First United Methodist Church. He was employed by Rasmussen and Hansen for many years until his retirement. He cherished time spent with his family at his cottage in Rome, WI. He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed.
Surviving are his wife, “Vi;” children, Robert (Dianne) Knop of South Milwaukee, Donna (Tom) Mears of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Kathleen Sleeman of AZ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends, In addition to his parents Don also was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Lee.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Deacon Terry Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for visitation on Wednesday at 10 a.m. until time of service.
