Thelma Kathryn Timler

Thelma Kathryn (nee: Rosenquist) Timler, 99, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints. She was born in Elgin, Illinois, on January 17, 1910, the daughter of Carl and Ada Catherine (nee: Straub) Rosenquist. On November 28, 1929, Thelma was united in marriage to Walter R. Timler at Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, active for many years in Ladies Aid, a charter member of Racine Lutheran High School Ladies Guild, an original member of the school’s Hashlinger Band.

Thelma is survived by two daughters, Marlene Wohlust and Joyce (William) Maher, all of Racine; and daughter in law, Barbara Timler of Cecil, Wisconsin. Thelma will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Theodore and Jacqueline, Mary Catherine and Richard, Tara and Steve, Tim Jay, Michele, Desiree, Tadd and Stacy, Carla and Richard, Leslie and Kenneth.

She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Hoffman of Racine. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, on March 22, 1982; son, Donald Timler in 2003; grandson, Dirk; son-in-law, Glenn Wohlust, in 2003; two sisters, Esther Brogan and Ruth Miller; and two brothers, Edward Rosenquist and Paul Rosenquist.

Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva St., on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Gehne officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the church on Wednesday before services from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or Racine Lutheran High School have been suggested.
