Frederick J. 'Fred' Sherwood

CALEDONIA – Frederick J. “Fred” Sherwood, 61, passed away at his residence on Friday, October 16, 2009. Fred was born in Racine on January 26, 1948, the son of Wesley and LaVerne (nee: Kobal) Sherwood.

He was a 1967 graduate of William Horlick High School. Fred was employed at Scan-O-Matic and most recently with Midland Container.He enjoyed working with his hands and building many items for his family and friends.

Fred is survived by his stepmother, Joyce Sherwood; brother, Mark (Cathy) Sherwood of Racine; sisters, Mary LaFever (nee: Sherwood) of Friendship and Brenda White of Kentucky; nieces, Alyssa, Jessica and Beth; nephews, Josh and Mike; great-nieces, Nevaeh and Amber; and great-nephew, Caleb. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, LaVerne (Kobal) Sherwood; and father, Wesley Sherwood.

Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday October 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Miesel of Racine Bible Church officiating. Burial will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park.

There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
