Minnie Catherine Longo

Minnie Catherine (nee, Nicholson) Longo, 92, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Friday, October 9, 2009.

Minnie was born in Sheboygan Falls, WI, on September 15, 1917. She married George R. Longo on June 17, 1935. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1960. Minnie retired from St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Minnie is survived by her children, George Peter (Angie) Longo of Sheboygan and Linda Ann (David) Bowman of Racine; grandchildren, Debbie (Ronald) Osgood of Appleton, Michael (Pamela) Longo of Union Grove, Julie (Paul) Olson of Caledonia, MN, Drs. Lance (Cathy) Longo, Whitefish Bay, Dr. Steven (Susan) Longo of Wauwatosa, Justin Bowman, Jamie Lin Bowman both of Racine, Jeffrey (Tammy) Demet of Delavan, Catherine (Charles) Spiegelhoff of Union Grove and Diane Epping of Little Chute; great-grandchildren, Laura, Hannah and Aaron Osgood, Kenny, Chase, Justin, and Rebecca Longo, Sarah and Douglas Olson, Nicholas and Gabriella Longo, Rachel and Dominic Longo, Zachery and Mikala Demet, Kara and Katelyn Spiegelhoff, Kyle and Eric Epping, and great-great-grandchild, Summer Zuberbuehler; her sister, June Marg of Richmond, CA; and son-in-law, Franklin Demet of Missouri. Minnie is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert James Longo; and daughter-in-law, Sandra K. Demet; her brother, Curtis J. Nicholson; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law.

Funeral services for Minnie will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John Aiello officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff’s at Hospice Alliance, and Lincoln Village Convalescent Center for all of the compassionate care shown to Minnie.
