Dolores 'Dee Dee' C. (Sheldon) Lennertz

Dolores “Dee Dee” C. Lennertz, age 80, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. She was born in Chicago, IL, on July 15, 1929, daughter of the late Ervin I. and Marie A. (Nee: Childress) Sheldon.

On October 2, 1954, at Mary Queen of Heaven, Cicero, IL, she was united in marriage to Donald Lennertz, who preceded her in death in 1981. For the past two years she lived with her niece, Lisa and Al Grodey, and her grandniece, Molly, with whom she had a special relationship. Molly called her “My Dee Dee.” Dee Dee was employed for many years at Racine Hydraulics, retiring from the Bosch Corporation in 1993. She was a member of Racine Hydraulic’s 15 Plus Club. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of the Eagle Lake Snowmobile Club. Dee Dee always had a soft spot for children and loved her time as a Brownie leader. She was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed crocheting, loved camping, Fall colors, cats, her bird and country music. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and smile despite her arthritic pain. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her two sisters, Rosemary Ann (Richard) Lennertz of Racine, Elaine Irene (Donald) Svehla of Sacramento, CA; nieces and nephews, Cathie (Mark) Zlevor, Dr. Rick (Jennifer) Lennertz Jr., Lisa (Al) Grodey, Laura (Mike) Tooley, Michael (Cheryl) Svehla, Steven Menden, Ellen (Steve) Keller, Tom (Linda) Menden, Dave (Janine) Menden; her special great-nieces and nephews, Don (Kelly) Zlevor, Erik Zlevor, Richard Lennertz III, Ross Lennertz, Jenna Lennertz, Jack Lennertz, Will Lennertz, Molly Grodey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Toni (Harry) Filz; other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John D. Aiello officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.

The family wishes to extend their special thank you to Dr. Robert Gullberg, Dr. Dana Trotter, Patty Calverly, and nurse, Molly of CV ICU for their loving and compassionate care.
