Anita M. Aiken, 85, passed away at Becker-Shoop Center on Thursday, October 2, 2008.
Anita was born in Racine on May 31, 1923, to Nickolas and Johanna (nee, Kison) DelNegro. She married John M. Aiken at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Racine on October 26, 1946. He preceded her in death.
Anita is survived by her children, Maria Elena “Lennie” Peacock, Jeffrey (Patricia) Aiken, Marlene (Don) Steinke, Blaine Aiken, Theresa (Steve) Simanek and Rosalie Schatzman; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Anita is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Kim John Aiken; parents; brothers, Nickolas, Robert and Albert DelNegro, her twin; and sisters, Josephine Konieczko, Johanna DelNegro, Mary Levandowski and Evelyn Clutter.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Anita will be held at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, corner of Green and English Streets, on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
