Jim Mitchell “Wine Bone” McGee, 69, passed away at All Saints Hospital on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. He was born in Saltillo, Mississippi, on May 23, 1939, son of the late Willie and Pearlie Mae (nee: Agnew) McGee. He had been a Racine area resident since 1965.
Jim worked for many years at Racine Recycling, now Miller Compressing, where he was known as “Mitch,” and was well liked by all of his co-workers. He’ll be remembered as a hardworking man who was always friendly and outgoing, willing to help others, and as a good loving father. He enjoyed gardening and traveling.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Lee McGee, James (Regina) McGee, Patricia McGee; his very special friend, Joyce Daniels, and her daughter Tracy; 9 grandchildren; his sisters, Ida Mae Holliman, and Lula Clinton; special cousins and many friends. He was also preceded by his brothers and sisters, Willie B. McGee, Forrest McGee, Lewis McGee, Robert McGee, Nancy Salters, Katie Newton, and Rose McGee.
Homegoing services will be held at Searching Together Missionary Baptist Church, 825 21st St., on Monday, October 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tony Visor officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery immediately following the services.
Our family would like to thank the many staff members and doctors at All Saints Health Care for the kind and compassionate manner in which they cared for our loved one. We especially acknowledge the angels in the ICU - Jo Ellen, Jennifer, Julie, and Sue.
