Cleo M. Lipovsky, age 88, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center. Cleo was born in Racine on December 13, 1919, daughter of the late James B. and Sadie Mae (Nee: Holcomb) Greider.
On June 17, 1949, at First United Methodist Church she was united in marriage to John Lipovsky, who preceded her in death, June 6, 1968. She was employed by the Telephone Company for many years and belonged to the Telephone Pioneers of America. Cleo was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Above all she devoted her life to her family and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Mae (Keith) Kwapil of Racine; her granddaughter, Jessica M. Kwapil and her fiancé, Sean Christofferson of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Mascek and Helen Ficks.
Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main St., on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Brad Van Fossen officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to Hope Safe House have been suggested.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her special angel, Juanita, and the staff at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center for their loving and compassionate care given to Cleo.
