Edward A. Robinson, 70, passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 9, 2008. His loving family surrounded him. He was born on July 7, 1938, the son of the late Leo and Olga Kashinski.
On June 2, 1973, in Our Saviors Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to the former Joy Williamson. Mr. Robinson had been employed by the J.I. Case Co. for over 25 years. He served his country with the U.S. Army. Mr. Robinson was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Tripoli Shrine Club, the Case 20-Year Club and a retiree of Local 180. He enjoyed woodworking and loved being with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Julie Hansen of Racine, David Voigt of Plymouth, WI, Jim (Patricia) Voigt of Glenbeulah, WI, and Linda and Dan Stachow (not only a son-in-law but special friend); four grandchildren, Tyler and Jacob Voigt and Melissa and William Stachow. Edward is also survived by his brother and sisters, Ethel Hoppe of Racine, Chet (Rosemary) Robinson of Sheboygan, and Gladys Burdick in Colorado; sisters-in-law Arlene Robinson of Oostburg, Liz Robinson of Logansport, IN, and Arlene (Stanley “Kelly”) Hanek. His nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Robert, William and Oscar Robinson, and his sisters Helen Schliesmann, and Caroline Freeman.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Scott Winters officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. In keeping with Ed’s wishes cremation will follow.
Joy wishes a very heartfelt thank you to her children as well as Ann and Bill Robinson, Arlene and Kelly Hanek, all the staffs at Wheaton Franciscan Hospice, the Cancer Center and Dr. Richard N. Odders.
