Juanita Pavia, age 80, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. Juanita was born in Texas, on February 17, 1928, daughter of the late Juan and Ricarda (Nee: Perez) Bernal.
On August 30, 1952, at St. Rita Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Jesse H. Pavia who preceded her in death, February 19, 2007. She was a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Above all she was devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her children, Virginia (Fred) Espinoza, Pat (June) Pavia, Leonard (Patty) Pavia, Mary Rose Martinez, all of Racine; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sisters and brothers, Domingo (Juanita) Bernal, Candelario (Beatrice) Bernal, all of Racine; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol Pavia, Cecelia Guerra, Ysidro Gutierez; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ramon, Robert, Jose, and Santiago Bernal and five sisters, Aurora Bueno, Minga Molina, Elvina Garcia, Elvira Ortiz and Ramona Marinez.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 800 Wisconsin Ave., on Saturday October 11, 2008, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Friday at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.
