Bernard J. Klinkhammer, 86, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Saturday, October 11, 2008.
Bernie was born in Kenosha on May 12, 1922, to John and Elizabeth (nee, Brosch) Klinkhammer. He married the former Helen M. Dellary and they had been married for 59 years. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2004. Bernie retired from Mitchell Manufacturing and was a carrier for the Journal Times for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Parkinson’s Group and also a member of the Good Sam’s Camping Group.
Survivors include his children, Bernard N. (Joanne) Klinkhammer, Sharon Melik and Alvin (Jayne) Klinkhammer; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Walter Dellary; and sisters-in-law, Florence Swiatek and Marion Dellary. Bernie is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Don Klinkhammer; son-in-law, Dennis Melik; brother-in-law, Edward Swiatek.
Funeral services for Bernie will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday October 15, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Ridgewood Care Center on 2-West for all of their care and compassion shown to our father, Bernie.
