Lee V. Maurer

SOUTH MILWAUKEE -- Lee V. Maurer, age 99, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. Lee was born in Kenosha, on September 26, 1909, son of the late Jerry and Stella (Nee: Salmon) Maurer.

On November 28, 1936, he was united in marriage to Mildred B. Acklam who preceded him in death on October 12, 1997. Lee was employed for many years by the Chicago Northwestern Railway and belonged to the Retirees Railroad Union. He enjoyed playing cribbage and was an avid sportsman who loved fishing and spending time up north at his home in Minoqua. Most importantly he treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his daughters, Janet Budish and Shirley (Dennis) Grobner; his grandchildren, Jeffery (Gail) Budish, James (Toni) Budish, Michelle (Craig) Mathias and Darren (Jennifer) Grobner; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Acklam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Merle and Al Maurer; and by his sister, Joyce Hodge.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 27, 2008, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
