Michael was born in Racine on October 13, 1946. Michael was a chef at various restaurants in the Racine area, including the Racine Country Club, Cozy Lounge, The Summit, The Hobnob, The Coral Reef, Waves and lastly at the Veteran’s Center.Michael was a free spirit. A spirit that came through his mother and lives in his children and grandchildren as well as his fiancé and those who knew him well. As a passionate artist first, his personal expressions were clear in everything he loved. Family, friends, art, music, sports and the Red, White and Blue. Michael was a gifted chef, although he would always say, “Hey I’m just the cook.” He and his passion, energy, love and spirit will be carried on by many.
Survivors include his mother, Betty; his fiancé, Jessica Zdanowicz; his three daughters, Traci (Brian) Heether-Meekma, Angel (David) Vinatieri, Stephanie “Stevi-k” Heether (Aaron Webb); his son and best friend, Michael W. Heether (Becky Spaulding); six grandchildren, Christopher, Rylee, Tai, Aeryn, Trent and Devyn; brother, Steve (Michele) Heether; nephews, Danny and Tommy; other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until time of service.
