ASHTON, IL -- Eleanor Mae Kerr, 84, passed away at Franklin Grove Nursing Center on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008. She was born in Racine on Aug. 9, 1924, to the late Adolph and Christine Larsen. She lived most of her life in Racine. She was united in marriage to her first husband, Russell Kime, and later married Bartlett Kerr; he preceded her in death in June 1980.
She worked at Massey Harris, was a crossing guard for the City of Racine, then became a cosmetologist for Merle Norman, and then after many years retiring as store manager for Lange's Pharmacy.
She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church, very active with the Racine Kilties, and was one of the founding parents of the Kiltie Kadets. She was always a hard worker. Ellie enjoyed crafts, gardening, and slot machines. She especially loved spending time with her beloved granddaughter, Samantha.
She is survived by her two sons, James Kime and John Kime; one granddaughter, Samantha Kime; two brothers, Robert (Irma) Larsen, Thomas (Nancy) Larsen and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at noon. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
