Adele I. Erbe, age 88, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Willowcrest Care Center, South Milwaukee, WI. Adele was born in Lake Park, WI, on September 26, 1920, daughter of the late Arthur W. and Carrie (Nee: Holly) Lundgren.
On June 1, 1940, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Racine, she was united in marriage to Harvey E. Erbe, who preceded her in death in 1997. Adele was employed for several years by St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her children, Alan (Betty) Erbe, Stephen (Cyndi) Erbe, Barbara (Gilbert) Faulls, all of Racine; daughter-in-law, Jane Erbe of Milwaukee; six grandchildren, Brian, Emily, Julie, Dan, Michael and Bradley; three sisters, Kathleen Carroll, June Amble, Ruthie (Tony) Prasnicky; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James; her infant brother, James Richard Lundgren; her sister, Lucille Button; and her brothers, Arthur, Everett, Robert, William and Charles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., on Monday July 27, 2009, at 10 a.m., with Rev. John D. Aiello officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Sunday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and at the church Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Cancer Center have been suggested.
The family extends a special thank you to the staffs at both St. Monica’s Senior Citizen Home and Willowcrest Care Center for all of their loving and compassionate care.
