LoAnn J. Manders, 77, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2009, at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital.
She was born in Chippewa Falls, WI, on April 18, 1932, to the late Basil and Lucreta (nee: Green) Boyd and lived in Racine since 1967. She was united in marriage on August 4, 1954, in Waukegan, IL, to Myron ‘Jim’ Manders.
She was a stay-at-home mother and homemaker for many years. She worked at Chrysler from 1973 to 1988 until her retirement. She loved shopping, the Green Bay Packers, the Brewers and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, James (Patricia) Manders of Cherry Valley, IL; daughters, Janine (Nicholas) Redlin, Judith Manders, Jayne Manders, and Joan Graham, all of Racine; grandchildren, Lori (John), Maggie, Denny (Erin), Nicholas, Kris, Katie, Sean, Emma, Tyler, Ryan, and great grandchild, Annabelle; sister, Pat Jorgensen; brother, Tom Boyd; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron ‘Jim’ Manders on October 6, 2005; and her son, Jeffrey Manders on April 29, 1996.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home, 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at 5 p.m. Inurnment will be private for the family at Graceland Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials in memory of LoAnn to the family have been suggested.
