Dolores A. Wynhoff, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 26, 2009, at her residence. Dolores was born in Racine, September 21, 1927.
On November 3, 1963, Dolores was united in marriage to Louis H. Wynhoff who preceded her in death, October 3, 2001. Dolly was the church secretary at St. Andrew Lutheran Church for many years and a dedicated mother and grandmother. In her earlier years she bred and raised champion Bedlingnton Terriers and Great Danes.
Dolly enjoyed her prairie garden, knitting and crocheting, and was recognized for her support of the Boy Scouts.
In her later years she treasured time spent with her family; especially her granddaughters, Mikaela, Hannah and Julia, whom she has helped to take care of since their birth. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her son, Mick (Katherine) Wynhoff; daughters, Judi (Bradly) St Vincent, Kathy Small; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; other relatives and many dear friends. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; step-sons, Daniel and Louis Jr.; father, Adolph Neumann; mother, Emily; and her sisters, Adelyne and Evalyn.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 31, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mary C. Ubuntu officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Following interment, guests are invited to the family’s home in Kenosha for a ‘pot luck’ luncheon. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the funeral home on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
Dolores loved living flowers; a memorial is being established to keep and maintain her prairie garden as a living memorial. Donations to Hospice Alliance are also appropriate.
