JC Goss

JC “Jake” Goss, 68, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Thursday, July 30, 2009.

JC was born on April 15, 1941, son of William and Winnie Goss. JC attended school in Minter City, MS. JC enjoyed fishing, hunting, mechanical work and gardening. JC retired from Belle Urban after many years of service as a mechanic and bus driver. JC had a tremendous passion for fixing vehicles; he knew what was wrong with a vehicle by the sound of the engine.

JC is survived by his children, Deloris Goss, Patricia (Delbert) Richards, Taffery Sims, all of Racine; Leevone (LeDean) Smith of Dallas, TX; Marcy Watt of Beaumont,TX; Marcus Cannon of Las Vegas, NV; and Nicole Frigo of Ladysmith, WI; brothers, William Goss and Marvin Goss, both of Racine; and Edmond (Mary) Goss of Morgan City, Miss.; sisters, Fannie (and the late George) Sims, Martha Goss, Mary (Kareem) Ghani and Della Goss, all of Racine; grandchildren, Shanicka, Dariess, Cherise, Passionaya, Aaron, Brackton and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Lorenzo, MaLeah, Dewaun, and La’Zariya and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Winnie Goss; and by his son, JC Goss Jr.

Funeral services celebrating JC’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009, at Wayman AME Church, 424 N. Memorial Dr., with Rev. Charlene B. Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday August 5, 2009, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. and on Thursday at Wayman AME Church beginning at 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

JC you will be missed by many-we always looked forward to seeing you each spring/summer planting season-we know you will find peace now....and freedom from pain....and know you will guide your offspring from heaven.
