Charles J. Palatino, 91, passed away at his residence on Saturday, July 4, 2009. He was born in Racine on February 9, 1918, the son of the late John and Carmela (nee: Recupero) Palatino.
On January 6, 1940, in St. Mary Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to the former Nancie Totera who preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 1994. Mr. Palatino had been employed, as a die setter, by Wisconsin Metal Products for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church, the Wisconsin Metal Products 20-Year Club, and the UAW Local 557. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and woodworking.
Surviving are his children, Charles (Joline) Palatino of Mukwonago, and Patti Levandowski of Racine; four grandchildren, Lauren (Nicholas) Palatino-Ansay of Johnson Creek, Kent Palatino of Mukwonago, James Levandowski of Oshkosh, and Lori (Brian) Nelson of Kenosha; and sister Mary Borowski of Hudson, WI. His nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends further survive him. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Becky Levandowski; and two sisters, Caroline Palatino and Ann Cuccia.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 10, in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum, Hwy 32. The family has suggested memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church.
