Donn Henderson was born in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Earle and Fern (nee: Gates) Henderson on June 14, 1919. He had lived in Racine for 46 years. In Edinburgh, Scotland, he was united in marriage to Mary M. Forsyth on March 10, 1945.Mr. Henderson served in the United States 9th Army Air Corps in the European Theater during World War II. He was employed by Rickert Industrial Supply for 17 years. He retired after 10 years of employment with J.I. Case Company in 1984. He was an avid traveler with his wife. He enjoyed wood carving and loved to study genealogy.
Donn is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary; two children, Rob (Judy) Henderson of Waukesha and Katie (John) Muehr of Racine; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Monday evening, July 27, 2009, at 6 p.m. Inurnment will occur at later date at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
