Mrs. Ann M. Gehring, age 81, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009. She was born May 3, 1928, in Frankfurt/Main/Germany, the daughter of Judge and Mrs. Hans Majer-Leonhard.
She was married to Dr. Carl A. Gehring who preceded her in death in 1974. Ann graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a BA degree in German Literature. She was also a trained Medical Technologist and a Registered Nurse. She was a docent at the Milwaukee Art Museum and a world traveler. Ann lectured at UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee, and UW-Parkside on subjects of art, music and history. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and Adventures in Lifelong Learning at UW-Parkside.
Surviving are her sister, Diethild Uhlich and family; her niece, Dr. Christiane Eisenlohr and family; her nephew, Bernd Uhlich and family; and her step-daughter, Rita Hermann and family, all living in Germany.
According to her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services.
