Samuel G. Unrein, 76, passed away at Lincoln Village on Monday, July 13, 2009.
Samuel was born in Fond du Lac on June 26, 1933, to the late Simon and Bertha (nee: Kreisman) Unrein and lived most of his life in Racine. On October 8, 1960, he was united in marriage to Judith A. Bloom.
Samuel was employed as a machinist at J.I. Case for over 40 years until his retirement in 1991. A few of his many interests were working on cars, fishing and listening to music of the '50s, especially Elvis. In his later years, he found great pleasure in attending classic car shows as well as participating in many activities at Lincoln Village
Samuel is survived by his wife, Judith Unrein; two daughters, Dawn (Curt) Stephan and Kimberly Unrein; two sons, Christopher (Terrie) Unrein and Randy Unrein; two special grandchildren, Jace Unrein and Amy Stephan; three sisters, Eleanor Pozel, Kathleen Bohn and Linda (Steve) Emmerling; one sister-in-law, Diane Unrein; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Alexander “Bud” Unrein; and one sister, Mary Lee Unrein.
A memorial gathering for Samuel will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 16, 2009, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A private interment at the cemetery for the family will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Lincoln Village Activities Department.
Special thanks to Dr. Richard Clark and the entire staff at All Saints, Dr. Lawrence Ryan and the staff at Froedert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, and also the special staff at Lincoln Village who kindly referred to him as “Trouble.”
