On August 7, 1945, in Oxford, England, she was united in marriage to Roy S. Christensen and they moved to Racine March 25, 1946. Roy preceded her in death in 1985. Doris was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Above all she treasured time spent with her family and will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.Survivors include her children, Chris (June) Christensen of Green Bay, Kim (Lee) Bahr of Sturtevant; her daughter-in-law, Robin Christensen of Union Grove; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Gilbert (Mary) Ratcliffe of England; sister, Joyce Causier of Oxford, England; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John; and brother, Fred.
A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday July 27, 2009, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Martin Osuji officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to Wheaton Franciscan Hospice have been suggested by the family.
