Dagmar Kristine Riggsbee

Dagmar Kristine (nee: Sundby) Riggsbee, 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Walnut Grove. She was born in Hjyrimmen, Denmark, on February 25, 1923, the daughter of Andrew and Anna (nee: Christensen) Sundby.

Dagmar was a Washington Park High School graduate. On August 7, 1943, she was united in marriage to Orval Riggsbee at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She and Orval made several memorable trips to Denmark and Hawaii. Dagmar was a member of Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene and a former member of Grace Church. She was a member of Danish Sisterhood and had been employed with Dremel Manufacturing for many years. Dagmar enjoyed doing needlepoint, which she shared with family and friends.

Surviving is her sister, Betty Kern; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval on Feb 18, 1998; a brother, Roy; and her parents.

Services will be held at Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene, 2100 Taylor Ave., on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. David F. Monroe officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the church on Saturday before services from 10 a.m. until time of service.
