Mrs. Petersen was born on September 25, 1963, in Las Vegas to Wallace and Shirley (nee: Wilson) NyLand. LaDawn was married to Rodney J. Petersen in Racine on June 19, 2005. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a Braille worker volunteer, on the board of Christian Care and enjoyed many crafts.LaDawn is survived by her husband, Rodney J. Petersen; one son, Thomas Lahey; one step-son, Rodney J. Petersen II; two step-daughters, Heather Maire Petersen and Katrina Overstreet; five grandchildren, other relatives and friends. LaDawn is preceded in death by grandmother, Gloria Massey.
Memorial services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 3700 Washington Ave., on Friday, June 5,2009, at 7 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Chryst officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church from 6 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials to the Anniversary of Grace Lutheran Church fund have been suggested.

This is my mother and I miss her very much. I am only 26, her and I didn't speak the last 5 years of her life because of a disagreement. That is the only thing in my life that I regret. Hug your mother, tomorrow is never promised.
