Lindenhurst, IL -- Frances (nee; Neff) Ziemann, 86, formerly of Racine, passed away at Victory Lakes Skilled Nursing Facility in Lindenhurst, IL, on Thursday May 28, 2009. Frances was born in Eldon, Iowa, on May 21, 1923, the daughter of Walter and Bertha (nee: Curtis) Neff.
She was united in marriage to Otto Ziemann in Chicago, IL. Otto and Frances retired to Savannah, Georgia, for 17 years, where they enjoyed playing golf and Frances began her art career at Savannah College of Art and Design. She and Otto returned to Racine full time and Frances received a bachelor’s degree in art from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 2000, sixty years following their graduation from McKinley High School.
Frances is survived by her children, Pamela and her husband, Charles Hudson of Racine, Timothy P. and his wife, Sharron Ziemann of Lake Villa, IL., and Andrew O. and his wife, Jeanne Ziemann of Lilburn, GA.; six grandchildren, Sarah (Rafael Aguero), Amy (fiancé Jeremy Edling), Timothy Jr., Rachel and her husband Andrew Candler, Andrew, and Alexander and honorary grandson, Thomas Dang Vu. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends in Racine and Illinois.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Otto, on October 10, 2006.
Funeral services will be held at Siena Center, 5635 Erie St., Racine, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2009. There will be a visitation at Sturino Funeral Home, 3014 Northwestern Ave., Racine on Sunday May 31, 2009, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and at Siena Center on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the food pantry at Holy Communion Lutheran Church of Racine or a charity of your choice are suggested by the Ziemann family.

My deepest sympathies to the Ziemann/Hudson/Neff families for your loss Frances will be missed.
I owe so much to Frances,Otto,Tim and Charles we shared allot of good times over many years. I will always have fond memories of our years together.
