Marlene Ann LeAnna

Mrs. Marlene Ann LeAnna, 71, passed away at the Sheridan Medical Complex in Kenosha on May 18, 2009.

Marlene was born in Racine to the late George and Violet (nee: Erdmann) Wartzok on February 25, 1938. She had lived in Racine all her life. In Racine at the first United Methodist Church she was united in marriage to Rodney J. LeAnna on September 10, 1960.

Mrs. LeAnna was a member of Christ Church United Methodist. She was also a member of Thursday Night Dartball League and Monday Afternoon Senior Dartball League. Mrs. LeAnna was employed at Shopko for 22 years until her retirement. She was known for the cookies she baked for Christmas. She was an avid flower gardener, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and playing with her grand-dog, Jake.

Marlene will be dearly missed by her husband of 48 years, Rodney; her three children, Mike, Dawn, and Tim LeAnna; her brother and sister-in-law, George (Nancy) Wartzok Jr.; two aunts and uncles, Shirley (Gary) Long and Carl (Gloria) Hort; a special friend, Karen Wings; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Christ Church United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Awilda Nolla officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Donations may be directed to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
