Howard J. Magnuson

Boca Raton, FL -- Howard J. Magnuson, age 74, passed away in Florida, Monday morning, May 18,2009. Howard was born in Norway, MI, on January 5, 1935, son of the late Iver and Elsa (nee: Lindholm) Magnuson.

Howard served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Nuremburg, Germany. On September 17, 1960, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Howard was united in marriage to the former Charlotte Bubloni, who preceded him in death July 20, 1998.

Howard was last employed with the Southern Wisconsin Center until his retirement. In his earlier years he owned and operated his painting and decorating business. He was a conscientious and loyal worker who enjoyed dedicating his time to gardening, decorating, rehabbing homes and in general making things beautiful. He also enjoyed his travels in later years to England and Germany and around the country. He was a kind and decent man who will be fondly remembered for his fantastic sense of humor and as a loving husband, father and dear friend to many people. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his son, Christopher Magnuson (Robin Ruby) of Milwaukee; his daughter, Jennifer (Jorma) Louko of Nottingham, England; brother, Don (Vicki) Magnuson; niece and nephew, Cindy Magnuson and John Magnuson, all of Racine; mother-in-law, Violet Lindholm of MI; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, Charlotte, Howard was also preceded in death by his son, Joel Magnuson.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 24, 2009,at 4 p.m., with Rev. Richard J. Molter officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday at Norway Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of services. Memorials to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 W. Palmetto Park Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33486 have been suggested.
