Mary V. (Wirry) Weill

Mary V. Weill, age 92, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009, at Franciscan Villa, South Milwaukee, WI. Mary was born in Racine, February 2, 1917, daughter of the late Albert and Rosa (Nee: Frantz) Wirry.

Mary was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church and on October 11, 1941, she was united in marriage to Edward Weill who preceded her in death, November 18, 1984. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. Above everything Mary treasured time spent with her family. She was last employed by Color Arts. Mary was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching baseball and the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include her children, Marilyn (Clayton) Venne of Racine, David (Linda Lea) Weill of Racine, Timothy (Faye) Weill of Nashville, TN, Donald (Julie) Weill of Waukesha, WI; grandchildren, Sandra (John) Quella, Mark (Debbie) Venne, Theresa (Domingo) Flores, Todd Weill, Tracy Weill, Bridget (Phillip) Wadley, Tina (Greg) Tollefsbol, Katie (Tim) Hanners, Jana Weill; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorry (John) Murphy of Racine; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers, George Wirry, Anthony (Lorretta) Wirry, Henry (Janet) Wirry, and Charles Wirry; and sisters, Ethel Wirry, Claire (Alfred) Weill, and Mildred (Ralph) Weill. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lisa (Michael) Benkowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie Street, on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. John D. Aiello officiating. Entombment will be held at Calvary Garden Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Alzheimer’s Assn. or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.

The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Franciscan Villa for the care and friendship extended to Mary.
