John was a graduate of Park High School, “Class of 1983.” He furthered his education at Gateway Technical College and Carthage College. During John’s career he was employed in various capacities in retail at the Boston Store, J.C. Penney and last working for Wal-Mart as a photo technician. He enjoyed shopping and had a great love for traveling.He is survived by his parents, Gerald and Patricia; aunts and uncles, Roy (Alice) Wiberg, Fred Linderman, Eloise (Don) Karkow, David (Romie) Gallo, Esther Gallo; cousins other relatives and many dear friends. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Margaret Alswager, Edward Monahan, John and Emilia Gallo, aunt Myrtle Linderman, uncle Ralph Gallo and his cousin David Gallo.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Friday, May 22, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A very special thank you to his cousin, Dr. Mary Karkow, for her loving and compassionate care given to John.
