Ruth Holston, beloved mother and aunt, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. Ruth was born in Holmes County, Mississippi, on April 21, 1930, to the late Northern and Geneva Peppers Sr.
On January 24, 1955, Ruth married John E. Holston Jr., who preceded her in death March 10, 1989. In that union, one son John Holston III was born. Ruth worked for St. Luke’s Hospital for thirty five years, retiring in 1984. Ruth was well known for her immaculate flowers and grass which gave her great joy. She was a faithful member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church. Ruth and her husband, John, were very social people and enjoyed their travels together. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kinzie Avenue. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of Mass.
