Roger S. Houle, 65, passed away at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center on Friday, May 8, 2009.
Roger was born in Escanaba, MI, on August 24, 1943. He served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam aboard the U.S.S. Wainwright. Roger married Lou Ann Olson in Milwaukee on August 30, 1969. He owned and operated the Corner Connection Tavern since 1982 and was a founding member of the Veterans of American Motorcycle Club.
Roger is survived by his wife, Lou Ann Houle; two sons, Roger J. and Ryan J. Houle; and two brothers, Raymond (Connie) and Russell (Janet) Houle of Escanaba, MI. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Houle.
Funeral services for Roger will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Interment will take place in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church have been suggested.
