Gloria L. “Marty” LaSchiava, 71, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Wednesday, May 27, 2009.
Marty was born in Racine on September 21, 1937, to Frederick and Ella (nee: Nelson) Paeth. She worked for Andis Clipper until her retirement. Marty enjoyed puzzles and going to the Theater Guild. She was a Rat Pack and Frank Sinatra fan. Most importantly she lived her life for her family.
Marty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bob Schroeder; grandchildren, Robert LaSchiava, Joshua Potter, who is currently serving his country in Iraq, and Ann Rose Schroeder; great-grandchild, Julian LaSchiava; brothers and sisters, Don (Joan) Paeth, Marilyn (Jim) Kaiser, Bob Paeth and Alice (Delmar) Burman. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Walter Barth in 1991.
A memorial service for Marty will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 1, 2009, at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lincoln Village for the wonderful care given to Marty.
