Eudelia D. (DeLaO) Villarreal

Eudelia D. Villarreal, age 74, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010, at her daughters’ residence. Eudelia was born in Saspanco, Texas, April 29, 1935, daughter of the late Miguel and Maria (Nee: Munoz) DeLaO.

On September 8, 1951, in Racine, she was united in marriage to Pedro U. Villarreal who preceded her in death, June 13, 1989. She was a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Eudelia was an excellent cook and her rice, beans and hot beef will be surely missed. She enjoyed shoe shopping, playing dominoes and bingo. She will always be remembered for her love of family, singing to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her love of dancing. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Angelita “Angie” (Jeme) Palacios, Pedro (Kathi) Villarreal, Esperanza “Hope” White, Luis (Cindy) Villarreal, Juanita Villarreal, Caroline Quiroz, Tammy Rach; her ten grandchildren, Carey (Melisa) Palacios, Katie (Dan) Halvorsen, Stacy (Mike) Compagno, Marie Quiroz, Cheri Lee Villarreal, Thaddeus “T.J.” Werk, Ruth White, Stephanie (Anthony) Mundy, Stephen White, Samantha Garner; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Santiago DeLaO and Miguel (Carol) DeLaO Jr.; numerous other relatives in the Villarreal and DeLaO families. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by twin brother, Rudy; brothers, Raphael and Cosme; and her sister, Delfina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 801 College Ave., with Rev. Esteban Redolad officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to the family or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staffs at Oncology Alliance, Hospice Alliance, Advanced Pain Management, and to family and friends, especially Anita, Anna, Nana, Nancy and Martina for their loving and compassionate care.
