Michael J. Acklam, age 62, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Wheaton-Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. Michael was born in Racine, March 3, 1947, son of Donald R. and Lois M. (Nee: Furst) Acklam.
Michael was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1965.” He was a former member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. He was a loving father, son and brother who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his children, Brian (Caroline) Acklam of Mesa, AZ, Lori Vance of Rhinelander, WI, John (Peggy) Acklam of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Kim Acklam of Racine; his three grandchildren, Stephanie Acklam, Crystal and Nathaniel Carlson; his mother, Lois (Harry) Jacobsen of Sturtevant, WI; brothers, Charles (Suzanne) Acklam of Whitefish Bay, WI, Steven (Kathy) Acklam of Federal Way, WA; stepbrothers, Harry(Wendy) Jacobsen Jr., Gloria (Mike) Stanke, all of Racine, Roger (MaryAnn) Jacobsen of Bristol, WI, Robin (Patty) Jacobsen of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald R. Acklam.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Terry McGugan officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service.
