Henning M. Anderson

Henning M. Anderson, age 83, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Ridgewood Care Center. Henning was born in Racine, May 1, 1926, son of the late Enevold and Elsie (Nee: Christensen) Anderson. He grew up in Racine and graduated from Washington Park High School. Henning served in the United States Navy on a ship as a signalman.

On October 24, 1948, he was united in marriage to Betsy L. Azarian. He was employed by Webster Electric for thirty-six years retiring as Vice President of Finance in 1988. Henning was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and licensed as a Certified Public Accountant. He was an active member of Bethania Lutheran Church and served on the Church Council. He also served as President and Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Danish American Home and was a member of the Danish Brotherhood for several years.

Henning was a natural athlete who participated in softball, bowling, golf and skiing. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching football and baseball. He was also an avid card player and he especially enjoyed bridge. Henning was a man who greatly enjoyed his life with family and friends. He will be remembered and missed by many.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-two years, Betsy; his children, Linda (Bob) Budlow, Raymond (Donna) Anderson; niece, Judi (Joel) Konicek; nephew, Thomas (Katie) James and the late David James; great-nieces and nephews affectionately known as special grandchildren, Beth (Dan) Griffin, Christopher Konicek, Daniel (Kristin) Konicek, David Konicek, Ryan Konicek, Nicole (Mark) Jansen, Michelle (Alan) Klingenmeyer, Christopher (Kristy) James, Jonathan James, Ashley James, Michael James, Casey Swanson; three great-grandchildren, Bronte, CoCo, and Jack; sister-in-law, Esther Paul; numerous other nieces, nephews from the Azarian family and many dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2010, at St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 4605 Erie St., with Rev. Yeprem Kelegian officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Health Care Network, 904 State St., Racine, WI 53404 have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Ridgewood Care Center and Hospice Alliance for their loving and compassionate care.
