Mary Patricia 'Pat' (Welch) Drom P.H.D.

Mary Patricia “Pat” Drom P.H.D., age 74, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010, at her residence. Pat was born in Kimberly, WI, May 6, 1935, daughter of the late Gordon and Lovina (Nee: Courchane) Welch.

She was united in marriage to Robert E. Drom M.D. who preceded her in death, March 22, 2003. For over thirty years Pat served the community as a Clinical Psychologist. Pat was an active member and volunteer at St. Patrick Catholic Church and she loved her time volunteering at Wheaton-Franciscan All Saints Hospital. Pat was a beautiful individual who was well loved by everyone who had the privilege to know her. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her stepchildren, Jennifer Norris M.D. of Salt Lake City, UT; Daniel (Corrine) Drom of Houston, TX, Andrew (Barbara) Drom of Santa Fe, New Mexico; her step-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Meagan, and Kevin Norris, Claire and Katrin Drom, Dennis and Katherine Drom; brothers and sisters, Robert (Donna) Welch of Tallahassee, FL, Richard (Barbara) Welch of Savannah, GA, Sherry Welch of Waukesha, WI, Barbara Welch-Leider of Chicago, IL; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan (Richard) Weber of Glen Ellyn, IL, Shirley Rouse of Windfield, IL; special friend, Robert G. Nugent; longtime dear friend, Betty Vissers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1100 Erie St., with Rev. Esteban Redolad officiating. Private interment will be held at Liberty Cemetery, Antioch, IL. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Patrick Catholic Church have been suggested.
