Clara L. (Davis) Nowak

Clara Nowak, age 85, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008, at Ridgewood Care Center. Clara was born in Mosinee, WI, on April 10, 1923, daughter of the late Chester and Anne (Nee: Berry) Davis.

On May 13, 1950, in Mosinee, WI, she was united in marriage to Ivan N. Nowak who preceded her in death on April 26, 1977. Clara was employed as an executive secretary by Mosinee Paper Mills and by Young Radiator for twenty-seven years until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Clara loved her family, friends and pets but especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her three children, Chris (Cindy) Nowak, Fr. Michael Nowak, Mary (Cory) Miller; daughter-in-law, Sue Nowak; her grandchildren, Tommy, Melissa, Daniel, Lisa, Jonathan, Matthew, Ryan, Andrew, Jamie and Patrick; sister-in-law, Vivian Davis; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Patrick, and granddaughter, Stephanie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., on Monday, January 5, 2009, at 6 p.m. with Rev. Michael Nowak and Rev. John D. Aielllo concelebrating. Interment will be held at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee, WI. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 4 p.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the American Diabetes Association have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Thomas Goodrich and nurse, Emily, for many years of compassionate care.
