Hazel L. (nee: Petersen) Coulthart, 80, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center. She was a lifelong resident, born on December 31, 1927, the daughter of Jergen and Hazel (nee: Luckey) Petersen.
Hazel was a Washington Park High School graduate, class of 1945. On April 26, 1958, Hazel was united in marriage to Charles Coulthart. She was a founding member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Hazel was a bookkeeper for Wisconsin Metal Products, retiring in 1976 after many years of service. She enjoyed gambling at various casinos, especially Potawatomi.
Surviving are her children, Judie (Ray) Nielsen of Mesa, AZ, Gail (Mike) Johnson, Jennie (George) Pfister and Ray (Dawn) Coulthart all of Racine, Al (Rose) Coulthart of Union Grove and daughter-in-law, JoAnne Coulthart of Whitewater; 14 grandchildren, Lorrie Duren, Jeff (Karen) Duren, Colleen (Jeff) Irwin, Tim (Madonna) Coulthart, Craig (Lori) Coulthart, Brian (Sandy) Peters, Amy Vanderhoff, Kim (Nate) Dexter, Julie (Scott) Frank, Jon (Molly) Pfister, Sarah Coulthart, Nicole (Josh) LaForge, Amanda Coulthart and Mike (Julie) Martin; and 23 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on April 16, 2000; daughter, Marilyn Martin in 2008; sons, Charles ‘Chuck’ Jr. in 2006 and James in 1957.
Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Sunday evening, December 21, 2008, at 6 p.m. with Rev. David Behling officiating. Private burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Sunday before services from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
